How Does Competitive All-Star Cheer Work?
All-Star cheer is a competitive team sport that combines stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance and choreography into a routine performed at cheer competitions. At Cali Coast Elite in San Diego, athletes are placed on teams based on age, skill level and experience so they can train and progress with athletes at an appropriate level.
Our teams practice throughout the season and compete at events in Southern California and beyond. Team placement begins with evaluations, where our coaches assess each athlete’s skills and determine the team that will provide the best opportunity for individual growth and team success.
New to competitive cheer? That’s okay! Cali Coast Elite offers options for athletes at different experience levels, including Half-Year teams and cheer training programs for athletes who aren’t ready for a full All-Star season.

Please note that our Half Year program will run from November to April and will open for registration on October 1st through the parent portal. We open evaluations for 2027/2028 season in May 2027
